Kristy Leon is a study coordinator at CORE Inc. and has been with the company since 2023. She was born in Rutherfordton, NC and went to UNC Charlotte where she graduated with a degree in exercise science. When she graduated, she worked as an exercise physiologist in cardiac rehab for over ten years before joining Dr. Vollmer’s team as a study coordinator.  

Kristy is excellent with the subjects and always goes above and beyond to cater to theirsupport the CORE patients. needs both while they are on You’ll probably see her on site orand if youthey call in with any questions in between visits. Her favorite part about working at CORE is caring for the research subjects. Kristy also enjoys creating new processes to continueis always working to make CORE an efficient powerhouse. 

When Kristy is not at work – you can find her out hiking, biking, camping, traveling, and importantly, finding the new and best pizzerias around the country. She is a pizza connoisseur and if you’re ever traveling out of state – ask Kristy where to go and she can tell you where the best pizza joint is!  to eat at in that area! Kristy also enjoys biking, camping, and taking cross country trips to visit all the State and National Parks. She lives in Shelby with her husband and 2 fur children, Daisy & Ella.
